Vulcanized Rubber and Plastics Company Stock Certificate
This piece is an Ebay exclusive. We are only offering this piece here!
The Vulcanized Rubber and Plastics Company was originally incorporated in Maine in 1916 as the Vulcanized Rubber Company.  The company had sales offices in New York and manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania.
The company manufactured gas masks for the Word War I campaign and introduced injection moldings of plastics in the early 1940's.  The company's name was changed in 1945 to the Vulcanized Rubber and Plastics Company to reflect the addition of this new production method.
Business boomed, with company most noted for its production of rubber and plastic combs. By 1946, the company had over 700 employees, but that number was down to 200 by the late 1970's as sales waned. After a strike in 1978, and two costly fires, sales continued to plummet. The company closed its doors for good on May 20, 1980.
