Vintage 10K Yel Gold +Black Enamel INDIAN Chief Cufflinks ~ Fine Detail ~ Sharp!
Kaw-Liga was a golden Indian standing on your cuff.... (to paraphrase Hank Williams' song that goes round in my head every time I see these cufflinks - only I always thought it was Elijah...).  In 10 karat yellow gold and black enamel, this wonderful pair of vintage cufflinks features majestic Indians with regal posture standing proud in feathered headdresses with bow and arrow tautly drawn.  They are highly detailed, from the feathers in their headdresses and fringe on their buckskins to their quivers and the serious expressions on their faces.  Made of gold, the Indians are separate elements superimposed on the black enamel so they seem scarcely contained by the confines of the faces of the links as if they may march off once they have let their arrows fly.  In relief and color contrast, they stand out sharply against the surface of the links, which makes them "pop" strikingly as the cufflinks will on your cuff.  The gold borders are embellished with a fancy motif of leaves or feathers, echoing that of the Indians' headdresses, setting them off and giving them a finished look, framing them like a painting.  Just look at these braves, they are quite Amazing!
Measuring about 9/16" diameter by over 1/16" deep, and weighing just over 10 grams, they are substantial and well made.
They are in Excellent vintage condition, with just expected surface dirt and scratches.  Upon close examination and magnification with my jeweler's loupe, I see a small spot of incomplete coverage of black enamel around the arrow inside the bow on one link, best seen in the 4th photo, where it is the face on the upper right.  This appears to have occurred in manufacture, is not very noticeable and does not detract.  The combination of black and gold is incredibly sharp looking.  They have the wonderfully gleaming, rich vintage patina of karat gold; cleaning and polishing are left to the buyer's discretion.  They are truly Spectacular.
