Our new brackets will increase your Tri-Glides fender to tire clearance by approximately 1&1/4 inches and will also increase the distance between the pavement and the bottom trailing tips of the Trike's stock mufflers by 1 & 5/8 inches. This improvement will help increase the ground clearance of the stock exhaust pipe tips from the pavement. Your
Tri-Glide not only benefits from the results of adding our lift kit, which keeps the trike from squatting too much when adding a passenger or additional loading, but a mentionable difference has been brought to our attention by previous customers that the handling of the Tri-Glide did improve.
Important Information
:
There has been inquiries about the reasons for having a 1/2 X 13 inch threaded nut welded onto the 3/8 inch steel bracket. The steel thickness of the bracket that the shock mounting bolt passes through is 3/8's of an inch. The lower shock mounting bolt is a 1/2 inch in width.
By Rule of Engineering Standards, the bracket should also be a 1/2 inch thickness. However, the thickness application of the bracket must remain at 3/8's of an inch. So in turn, a 1/2 x 13 inch nut must be welded to the bracket to ensure the required strength is where the lower end of the shock will mount.
Installation:
Easy to follow instructions are included. We have
revised our lift kit brackets with an alignment adjuster opening that will accept a 1/2" drive ratchet
. Now all installers will be able to move the brackets for easier hole alignment.
