Incredible embroidered Hmong jacket is made with rectangular patchwork, appliqué and vivid multi-colored hand embroidery.
The material used for this jacket design is cotton, it looks like hemp and is a common textile used by Hmong Hill Tribe.
Various design techniques are used for this particular piece and include detailed embroidered countryside scenes, geometric motifs,
floral & fauna, hand stitched appliqué of intricate cross stitch patterned squares and hand stitched applique of triangle type border (see pics).
The jacket has big front pockets and is an open style front closure (no buttons).
The inside is fully lined in lightly padded quilted cotton fabric.
It is made of 100% cotton.
These hand embroidered Hmong pieces are unique and hard to find these days.
Because of their rarity and exquisite detail, they have become true collectibles.
This jacket might have been made in Vietnam or Thailand.
This jacket is in excellent condition, may not have been worn.
