Confederate girth of 3 inch woven cotton, as found on both issue and private purchased Confederate and Civilian saddles of the period. The ends are secured to 3 inch rings by prime US harness leather, hand cut and hand sewn. Girth is 28 inches end to end and would be used with a latigo type cinch, making it fully adjustable. This item has the stamp of the firm H.M. Richmond and Sons. Item would be a good match with the Confederate surcingle sold elsewhere. Most items ship next day USPS.
