C.S. COTTON HAVERSACK. Hand Sewn Bag w/ Machine Sewn Carrying Strap.

On consignment with us is this Moses Alexander
pattern
(style) white cotton haversack.  The bag element is
entirely hand sewn
and made from an antique cotton osnaburg – the type of fabric the original is made from according to the seller. The machine sewn carrying strap (a replacement) is made from cotton drill (
a different fabric than the bag
) but is hand sewn to the bag. The strap has some seams coming open on the back (missed when sewing it together) but this is repairable. A 3/4" natural bone button closes the front cover. The button hole on the cover is hand sewn. In very nice condition and does not appear to have been used.  Measures 9” wide x 10” tall. The carrying strap is 1” wide x 38” long.  Privately made.
