    Description

    On consignment with us is this light gray wool blanket that measures approximately 86” x 62” and weighs in at four pounds.  This item was purchased at an antique store so the exact age of the blanket is unknown.  The
    current owner
    added the hand sewn chain stitched “USSC”  (United States Sanitary Commission) which is done in white yarn.
    Given that this is an old blanket it does have some issues. For some of these we have used a dime to give a size perspective (sorry, dime not included :-).
    There are some small holes here and there and we have taken photos of these.
    Some very tiny holes are present but did not photograph well. These could be tiny moth holes. There aren't a lot but they are present.
    A couple small stains are on the blanket  plus some stains along the edge. Again, see photos for this.
    There is a thin dark line (from the mill that loomed this item) on this blanket and may (??) have been either a cutting line or a line to mark the center. Finally, the long edges have a machined selvage and the cut ends are raw.
