This Original Antique 1920's SIGNED Ostby & Barton Art Deco 10k Solid White Gold ring is set with a Amazing 4ct 10x8mm Ruby with the most Vibrant

This ruby is an Unusual Window Pane Emerald Cut Ruby. An Emerald Cut is an octagonal cut with the corners cut at 45 degrees to protect them from damage. A window pane cut has a flat low profile top with a beautifully beveled edges and a faceted underside. This keeps the gemstone low in the setting protecting it from damage. The gemstone tests as a ruby on a Presidium Gem Tester and a reflectometer but still could be a very high quality lab grown ruby. The gemstone has not been removed from the setting for testing so we cannot say definitively it is a natural ruby as it is most likely a very high quality lab grown ruby. A Lab Grown Ruby has the
exact
same physical, optical, and chemical properties of a Natural Ruby meaning it is as hard and scratch resistant.
The interior of the ring is also fully hallmarked with an "OB" & Maltese Cross which are the hallmarks for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand

This classic 1920's Art Deco ring also has some Hand Milgrain details accenting the raised details on the shoulders of the setting.
Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler's hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery.

Be wary of any online seller that offers sizing of a ring before it is shipped to you. Due to differences in measuring devices and the way certain types of rings fit these rings should only be sized in person by your local jeweler. Sizing by your local jeweler is relatively inexpensive and you will have a ring that properly fits your finger. All size 9 rings are not the same. The ring may fit on a mandrel and measure as a size 9 but the way the ring is made, the way the ring has been enlarged or reduced, and the finger type you have may make it fit like an 8 or 10 or worse. Have your sizing done in person for a proper fit.
