North Texas temperatures are forecast to be unusually warm this week, ranging 10 to 15 degrees above the 30-year average, though cooler weather is expected toward the end of October. The forecast says there is no chance of rain this week.
This week’s temperatures will range between the mid-80s and the low 90s, though cooler weather in the early mornings and later evenings may offer a glimpse of the fall weather to come. Overnight temperatures are forecast in the low-to-mid 60s.
“So although the days will be hot, the mornings will be bearable. It won’t be like in the summer, where they’re just hot and muggy right as you start your day,” National Weather Service Fort Worth meteorologist Juan Hernandez said Sunday in an interview.
Though forecasts are subject to change, especially those projections for days more than a week out, Hernandez said the warmer weather is expected to continue until the tail-end of the month. That is despite a weak cold front expected to move through the Dallas-Fort Worth area Sunday night and Monday.

“There are some signs that we could be looking at slightly cooler temperatures in two weeks before Halloween and then Halloween Week,” Hernandez said, but confidences in forecasts that far out are “pretty low,” he added.
October is the second-wettest month on average in the last 30 years, but this year is likely to break from the norm. Hernandez said there is little indication of rain this week.
